Netflix has been teasing this for an entire year. The incredibly expensive fourth season of the streaming hit Stranger Things premieres this Friday, and they really don’t want you to forget. So here’s one! more! trailer—a quick minute of doom, gloom, and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) intoning, “Never tell me the odds.”
Netflix’s summary explains:
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
Everything here goes by very quickly, and most of it we’ve seen before: Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) freaking out against a background of explosions; scenes of relative normalcy involving roller-skating and cheerleading; a bit of D&D; Max (Sadie Sink) floating into the sky; and Hopper (David Harbour) spending time in a Russian prison. This is, as they say, all vibes, which is pretty par for the course for the show. This penultimate half-season is getting mixed reviews, but you can see it for yourself when the seven episodes of season four, volume one premiere on Friday, May 27.
